Welsh Snooker great comes to the Matchroom

SNOOKER ace Mark Williams is to play another exhibition at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom. The game’s popular player will appear at a special event to be held next month.

The former world champion and world number 1 will cue up against club members and competition winners during the crowd pulling event in the 100 seater Matchroom. The event is expected to be a rapid sell out.

Mark Williams, currently world ranked number 12 staged a successful exhibition match at the club three years ago. Terry Griffiths said he was delighted to welcome him back to Llanelli.

He said: “I am thrilled that Mark has agreed to play in this special exhibition match and I am sure there will be a great  response.
“He is a very popular player with a unique attacking style and it is a real privilege to welcome him back to the Matchroom.”

The evening will be held at 7pm on Tuesday 27 November and will be sponsored by S A Brain. Mark Williams is the latest big name to play at the Matchroom in recent years.

Some of the game’s biggest stars including Dennis Taylor, Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins and Matthew Stevens have all taken part in exhibition nights.

Terry added: “The exhibition match promises to be a wonderful night with some lucky members and competition winners being given the rare chance to play against one of the best in the business.”
