Jamie Clarke selected for Wales
Matchroom Player of Distinction Jamie Clarke (pictured below) has been selected to represent Wales at under 16 level in international matches to be played this summer (2007). This is an excellent achievement for Jamie as he has been selected as a full under 16 international at the age 12.

Coedcae pupil, Clarke has already represented Wales at under 14 level (2006). This latest achievement however outstrips this as under 16 level is the earliest age group in which a player can get full representative status.
To make it into the Welsh team Jamie had to make it into the top four of the national under 16 ranking list. He did this in great style with consistent performances that saw him reach 2 semi-finals and a quarter final in 4 events. He will now play for Wales in Carlow, Ireland in June and July and will go on to the home internationals which will be played in Prestatyn in September.
Jamie has been part of the Player of Distinction scheme at the Matchroom since it started back in 2005. Jamie, thanks to his hard work and dedication on the table, is recognised as one of the most promising young snooker stars in Wales at the moment.
He is hoping to follow in a long line of excellent Welsh players including, Ray Reardon, Terry Griffiths, Doug Mountjoy, Darren Morgan, Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens.
The Matchroom would like to congratulate Jamie on his excellent achievement.
