Rees boys do the business!

Father and son, Tony and Darren Rees from Burry Port proved too strong for the field in this year's TGM Lads and Dads competition. They were 2-1 victors over Gerald and Rhys Henley in a closely fought final. Tony and Darren will now get tickets and back stage passes to the final of the 2008 Welsh Open final in Newport this coming February.

Darren and Tony Rees

On their way to the final Darren and Tony managed notable victories over Richard and Corey Rees and Justin and Clive Thomas. In the other half of the draw, fancied pairing Kieran and Brian Elliott fell at the semi final stage to eventual runners up, Gerald and Rhys Henley.

Last year's winners David Owens and Wayne Griffiths could only manage a victory in the plate this year. After going out in the first round to Daniel Bowen and Andrew Morgan they won through to the plate final where they were 2-0 winners over Chris and Neil Davies.

High break of the day went to Welsh International Jamie Clarke who scored an 88 break.

The Matchroom would like to thank all the members that entered this year's event and would like to congratulate Darren and Tony on their well deserved victory.
