Jamie Clarke Wins Welsh Title

Jamie Clark won a Welsh Under 14 ranking event at his first appearance in the events.
Eleven year old Clark has been honing his skills on the Matchroom Young Player of Distinction Scheme, and has already won several Junior handicap events in the club. But this was the first time he ventured into national competition and he was reward with a 3-2 win against Cwmbran's Jak Jones in the final. Although Clark is known for his potting skills, it was his safety play and composure under the pressure of competing in a final in front of a substantial audience, that won the day against Jones, who has been tipped by his coach Darren Morgan as "one to watch".
Clark's day started in the preliminary round of the 34 player event, where he beat Aberystwyth's Rhydian Ap Owen. Then he beat Daniel Thomas 2-1 before putting out event one winner Kishan Harani, from Cardiff, 2-0 to book a quarter final place.
He put paid to Cardiff's Joseph Abdullah 2-0 and followed that with another 2-0 win in the semi finals, both frames going to the black, against Aberaman's Duane Jones.
In the final Jamie scored a notable victory over much fancied 12 year old, Jak Jones.
Jamie was presented with his prizes by Welsh B&SA President Darren Morgan, who praised the skills and future potential of the young Llanelli potter .
