Terry Griffiths Matchroom
The Terry Griffiths Matchroom is situated in the centre of Llanelli, the largest town in Carmarthenshire in South Wales. The business has been operating since 1987 and has in excess of 2000 senior members and 800 junior members.

The club has 14 championship snooker tables laid out in a very spacious manner. One of the tables is in a private room, with another situated in the centre piece of the club - a 100 seater matchroom facility.

History of the Terry Griffiths Matchroom
The Terry Griffiths Matchroom was set up in 1987 by former World Professional Snooker champion, Terry Griffiths. It had always been Terry's dream to set up a top class snooker club in his home town of Llanelli. After a long search for suitable premises, Terry came across the Ritz Buildings and his dream became a reality.

A run down snooker hall was already in place on the first floor and in June 1987 Terry, Wayne and a number of workmen set about knocking down the old to make ready for the new.

After 4 months, 3 off 20 tonne lorries and approx. 80 skips full of rubbish the old club was stripped out and the new club started to take shape. Work went on through the night before the official opening which eventually took place on September 20th, 1987. For a more detailed history including pictures click here.

Future Goals of the Terry Griffiths Matchroom
The Terry Griffiths Matchroom has long been recognised as one of the best snooker clubs in the United Kingdom and in recent years its reputation has grown on an international scale.

The future goals of the Terry Griffiths Matchroom aim to build on this reputation and to ensure that the club is seen as one providing the highest standards of snooker facilities for all members and visitors. The club also aims to foster more links with young people in the community and hopes to be seen as an important part of Llanelli's attraction to its occupants and visitors. The club has begun to build itself a reputation as a world class facility for snooker coaching at all levels and there are more plans in the hopper that will cement the Matchroom's place on the world map for coaching excellence.

We will also seek to introduce pioneering services that have never been seen in snooker coaching as we aim to foster the opportunities afforded by computer technology and the internet. Watch this space!
